Hi! I’m Emma!
I’m so excited that you’re here! Together, let’s make you vibrant and pain free so you can get back to what you love.
In 2021, I graduated from an intensive 4 year program at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy. After adopting my puppy I dove into the 12 month graduate program in Animal Osteopathy.
My treatments seamlessly blend somatic and biomechanical approaches, acknowledging the significance of both the patient's lived experiences and the practitioner's observations. During treatments, I prioritize gentle touch to engage the parasympathetic nervous system, ensuring the most non-invasive and soothing treatment possible. (Yes people fall asleep, no I wont judge your snoring!)
My philosophy is simple: you possess the innate ability to heal, and sometimes, you just need a helping hand. As an osteopathic manual therapist, I work to restore your body's natural homeostatic mechanisms by addressing structural impediments that hinder proper functioning. This involves balancing the intricate interplay of muscles, ligaments, fascia, nerves, veins, arteries, and joints, recognizing that every part of your body collaborates to maintain health.
Before embarking on my osteopathic journey, I graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Dance, accompanied by a minor in Environmental Studies and a certificate in Community Arts Practice. During my time there, I studied anatomy, dance kinesiology, injury prevention, and anti-oppressive community work. My path to osteopathy began while dealing with a chronic dance injury. My years as a dancer helped me build an embodied understanding of movement.
