FAQs

Have a burning question? I’ve probably got a hot response

Are you covered by insurance?

Yes I am! I’m part of Ontario Osteopathic Association (Proof! I’m on a website).

But of course you should check your own plan and double check that Osteopathy, or Osteopathic Manual Therapy is covered.

I don’t offer direct billing, but I’ll send you a receipt with everything you need to submit for reimbursement.

What is Osteopathy?

Whooph, going for the big questions!

Osteopathic Manual Therapy is a super gentle hands on (manual) therapy (going for the gold here). It looks at how all your small joints work together to make you function. I consider you as a whole person, where if one thing is not functioning optimally, everything else is working to compensate. That could be a hip, or a finger. Its my job to find what bits are happy, and what bits aren’t.

What happens at my first appointment?

We’ll start by chatting about what’s bringing you in, your health history, and your goals. I want to get the full picture! what’s going on in your body, how it’s affecting your life, and what kind of support you’re looking for.

Then we’ll move onto gentle hands-on treatment. You’ll lie down (maybe take a nap), wear comfy clothes, and I do most of the work. Expect to feel super chill, and to walk out feeling a little more connected to your body.

What should I wear?

The eternal question.

But for me its super easy, loose fitting clothing, or something you can move in!

The looser and more non-restrictive your clothing is, the easier it is for me to figure out what is going on in your body. Something stretchy, or soft, with minimal buttons and zippers. Sweatpants, yoga gear, cotton shirts etc. work best. Please avoid wearing tight jeans or skirts/dresses.

We can make anything work! You will not be turned away for wearing the wrong clothes! I just want you to be comfy!

How many sessions will I need?

It really depends! I know that’s probably not the answer you were looking for, but its honest.

It will depend on how long you’ve been dealing with your symptoms, how acute it is, how much its impacting your life, and if its a chronic issue.

Some people feel big shifts after one or two sessions. Others with more complex or long-standing stuff might need a longer arc of care.

I don’t want you coming back forever, my job is to help you get back to the activities you love. After our first session, I’ll share what I’m seeing and suggest a plan that fits your goals, your body, and your life.

You always get to decide how often you come. I’m here when you need me.

Do you treat newborns?

Yes! I love treating babies!

I make sure a treatment is gentle and effective, going at a pace they can handle. Osteopathic Manual Therapy is great to support their healthy development.

I have a better question!

Amazing! Let’s chat!

Send me an email, and I’ll see if I can answer it!
